HPD Catch Can Kit GU Patrol ZD30 Common Rail 2007-2016
Rated 5/5 based on 1 reviews.HPD oil catch cans / oil air separators prevent oil from entering into the intake manifold and mixing with the exhaust gases from the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) system.
The mixture of oil & exhaust gases creates carbon build up in the inlet manifold (see picture in listing) blocking vital components like airflow sensors, map/boost pressure sensors etc, reducing power and torque as well as increasing fuel usage and potentially causing damage.
A quality Catch Can helps to maintain optimum performance by preventing build up of oil deposits in intake, piping, manifold & intercooler.
Modern 4WDs tend to have more sensors in the intake manifold and EGR valves that can malfunction due to the oil film & carbon deposits produced.
The HPD direct bolt on separator kits are ideal for 4WDs running an intercooler or turbo kit and they come complete with mounting brackets, rubber hoses and hose clamps. The separators eliminate oil vapour that can contaminate the intake system and therefore helps keep the intercooler clean (internally). This translates into more efficient cooling and better power delivery from your engine.

I couldn't be happier with how my HPD Catch Can lo
By: Richard W on 20 April 2017When I first opened the HPD Catch Can package, I was kind of confused because there was a lot of stuff in the box like screws, bolts, brackets etc. I have purchased other Catch Cans in the past that were definitely cheaper and when I had opened these other packages, there was nothing but the catch can itself. I would have to go to the hardware store and other auto shops to buy bolts, brackets, hoses, hose adaptors and hose clamps. Plus after taking all that extra stuff home, I would still have to modify things to make it all work. After adding up how much extra I had spent on the 'cheaper' Catch Can options, it would actually end up costing me so much more and would often be inefficient. The HPD Catch Can kit had everything I needed to install it into my 2008 3L Nissan Patrol. I did not need to source anything else to help put it together and I only needed very basic tools to do the job. It also only took me about 20 minutes to complete. The package also included instructions with pictures showing how to do the job properly for both the CRD and the DI engine variants. Those guys at HPD really know how to put a kit together for the DIY'er. I couldn't be happier with how my HPD Catch Can looks and performs.
